City services delayed for Jan.26

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Fayetteville city government offices will open to the public Monday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. due to hazardous road conditions.
Updates/Changes to City Services:
- City Hall will operate on a three-hour delay, opening up at 11 a.m. Residents are encouraged to call ahead to determine if services can be completed online.
- Solid Waste services will not operate Monday, Jan. 26. Monday’s household and yard waste will be collected Wednesday, Jan. 28. Ensure household waste is curbside promptly at 6 a.m. to ensure pick up. For any additional updates, to include recycling, please refer to the Solid Waste website at FayettevilleNC.gov/SolidWaste.
- Fayetteville Area System of Transit services will begin services at 11 a.m. on Monday, and services will conclude at their regular time. Services will be limited. Passengers are advised to plan accordingly, allowing for additional travel time to and from destinations. There will be no services for Route 16 and X1. Passengers can track buses in real-time by downloading the TRANSLOC app. For route details, please visit RideFAST.net.
- Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation facilities and gated parks will open at 11 a.m. Recreation centers/facilities will act as warming centers until 6pm. All FCPR recreation centers/facilities will close at 6pm in effort to avoid any refreezing as temperatures drop.
- Passengers who are traveling with the Fayetteville Regional Airport are encouraged to contact their airline directly for any questions on flight schedules. You can visit FlyFay.com for additional information.
Street crews have been working continuously assessing and treating the roadways throughout the City.
Residents are encouraged to stay off the roads, if possible, and if not, be extra cautious while driving. Driving at posted speeds could be extremely dangerous when ice is on the road. It is important to note that shaded and elevated areas, including bridges and culverts, still present extremely slippery conditions and residents need to take extra precautions when driving.
Residents are encouraged to call 911 for any emergencies, including downed trees or powerlines on a road.
