FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - City of Fayetteville administrative offices will open at noon to the public tomorrow, Feb. 20 as a result of winter weather. A winter weather advisory remains in effect in the Fayetteville area until 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20.
Updates/Changes to City Services for Thursday, Feb 20:
- City Hall will open to the public at noon. Residents are encouraged to call ahead to determine if services can be completed online.
- FAST services will begin noon. Passengers are encouraged to plan accordingly. For route details, please visit RideFAST.net or download the TransLoc app.
- Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation facilities and gated parks will open at noon.
- Solid Waste services will be delayed until roads are safe for crews to operate. Residents are encouraged to place their rollout carts out tomorrow for collection. Yard waste will be dependent on road conditions. For updates on Solid Waste services, visit FayettevilleNC.gov/SolidWaste.
- Passengers who are traveling through the Fayetteville Regional Airport are encouraged to contact their airline directly for any questions on travel and flight schedules.
- Main police station front lobby and records unit at 467 Hay Street will open at noon.
City officials will continue to assess and monitor road conditions and provide updates as necessary.
Residents are encouraged to stay off the roads, if possible, and if not, be extra cautious while driving. Driving at posted speeds could be extremely dangerous when snow and ice are on the road. Many vehicles lose traction especially at higher speeds resulting in serious accident and vehicle rollovers.
Residents are encouraged to call 9-1-1 for emergencies, including downed trees or powerlines on a road.
Residents should sign up for Cumberland Alerts to receive notifications about severe weather, evacuations, and protective actions. The Cumberland Alerts notification system enables Cumberland County’s Emergency Services to provide critical information to residents throughout the county.
