FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The city is inviting residents to signup for the citywide fall cleanup event, Fayetteville Beautiful. The Fayetteville Beautiful event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Oct. 4.
This year, the city is proud to collaborate with Keep America Beautiful to make an even greater impact. This national nonprofit partners with communities across the US to assist with picking up litter, planting trees, boosting recycling and transforming neighborhoods to build more vibrant, connected and beautiful communities.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to help keep our streets, parks and in stormwater drains clean from litter throughout the city,” Jessica Howell, Management Analyst stated.
Individuals or volunteer groups interested in signing up should visit FayettevilleBeautiful.com to register and select a location on the interactive map to clean up. Participants are encouraged to choose any road to clean, whether it be in their neighborhood or one around the City.
Supply pickup for residents participating in Fayetteville Beautiful will be available on Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 121 Lamon Street. For safety, residents are encouraged to clean up during daylight hours on Oct. 4.
Participants are asked to close and tie the tops of filled bags, place only the orange bags along the roadside several yards from the pavement and consolidate them at intersections away from the roadway. The litter picked up during the event will be collected on Monday, Oct. 6.
