Loose leaf collection begins Nov. 24

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Loose leaf seasonal pickup service begins on Nov. 24. Team members with the Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation department will use specialized equipment to collect residential loose leaves by zip code.
The date window by zip code is listed below:
- 28301 & 28312 (Nov. 24 – Dec. 5)
- 28306 (Dec. 8 – Dec. 19)
- 28311 (Dec. 22 – Jan. 2, 2026)
- 28304 (Jan. 5 – Jan. 16, 2026)
- 28303 & 28305 (Jan. 20 – Feb. 2, 2026)
- 28314 (Feb. 3 – Feb. 16, 2026)
Residents should follow the following instructions for their loose leaves to be collected:
- Place leaves and pine straw at the curbside before your first scheduled day of pickup.
- Piles should be leaves and pine straw only. Please do not include tree limbs or other yard debris.
- Leaves and pine straw should be on the curb and away from the roadway and storm drains.
- Do not place leaves over yard decorations, meter panels or any other utility equipment close to the ground.
Open burning, including the burning of leaves and other yard debris, is not allowed in the city of Fayetteville.

Residents should be aware that bad or inclement weather may cause delays.
The City also offers yard waste services through the Solid Waste Department. Residents do not have to wait for loose leaf collections. Leaves can be placed in a green or brown 96-gallon rollout cart, a 32-gallon metal or plastic container or durable plastic bags to be collected on regular scheduled yard waste pickup days. Solid waste pickup schedules can be found at FayettevilleNC.gov/SolidWaste.
