Pedestrian Fatality
(Fayetteville, NC) – On January 7, 2026, at approximately 2:56 a.m. officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the intersection of Gillespie Street and W. Mountain Drive for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.
Officers and Emergency Medical Personnel arrived on scene located the pedestrian in the roadway where they were pronounced deceased.
The Fayetteville Police Department's Traffic Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian identified as Hillary Lee Jarman (White female, 41 years of age) of Fayetteville, N.C. was illegally in the roadway when struck by a 2001 Dodge Durango. The driver of the Dodge Durango stopped, called 911, and is cooperating with the investigation.
Charges are not forthcoming. There is no additional information to provide.
