Pools & Aquatic Centers

FCPR pools opened for the swim season on Memorial Day, Mon. May 26.
FCPR pools will close for the swim season on Labor Day, Mon., Sept. 1.
With the exception of Memorial Day (Mon., May 26) and Labor Day (Mon., Sept. 1), the pools will be open Tues.-Sun.

Hours of Operation:
Tues.-Sat.: 10 am-6 pm
Sun.: 1-6 pm

Fayetteville Cumberland Parks and Recreation Pools will operate with adjusted schedules beginning Mon., Aug. 25 as Cumberland County traditional schools return to the classroom. Pools will be closed Mon., Aug. 25-Fri., Aug. 29. Pools will operate on the weekend, Aug. 30-Sept. 1.  

Adjusted Pool Hours of Operation:
• Sat., Aug. 30; 10 am-6 pm
• Sun., Aug. 31; 1-6 pm
• Mon., Sept. 1 (Labor Day - Final Day of Swim Season); 10 am-6 pm 

Cost:
Resident: $3 for ages 12 and under; $4 for ages 13+
Non-resident: $6 for ages 12 and under; $8 for ages 13+

All flotation devices must be “Coast Guard Approved”. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: water wings, inner tubes, rafts, noodles, flotation suits or other non-coast guard approved devices.

This facility features a kiddie pool, larger lap pool with six lanes and a 24 foot enclosed water slide.

The facility features a 6-lane lap pool which depth range of 4 feet to 5 feet and a wading pool with a zero entry and a maximum depth of 3.5 feet depth with a water playground area.


Lake Rim Aquatic Center

This facility features a wading pool complete with an in-water playground, competitive pool with six lanes and an 18-foot-high water slide.


Westover Aquatic Center

The facility features an 8 lane competition pool with a depth range of 4 feet to 6 feet and a wading pool with a zero entry and a maximum depth of 3.5 feet depth which includes a 12 foot high water slide.

Splash Pads

Mon.-Sat.: 10 am-7 pm (3-7 pm when school is in session at Gray's Creek, Lake Rim and Spivey; 3:30-7 pm when school is in session at E. Melvin Honeycutt and Massey Hill)

Infrequently, FCPR splash pads may be purposely turned off to prevent damage to filtration systems. These mechanical issues arise when large amounts of debris, such as grass clippings and pine needles, accumulate in the system due to heavy rains. For planning purposes, please be sure to check the weather forecast prior to visiting a splash pad.

Splash Pad Wheelchair Checkout

wheelchair FCPR will have aquatic wheelchairs available for checkout at the Massey Hill Recreation Center Splash Pad (1612 Camden Road). Participants with the need for a wheelchair will be able to check one out during center operating hours for onsite usage. Funding for this project was provided by the Community/Emerging Opportunity Fund of Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc.

Aquatic Programs

Certified Lifeguards

lifeguard raft Fayetteville Cumberland Parks and Recreation is preparing to reopen pools this summer and is looking for certified lifeguards. Lifeguards need to be 15 years old or older by their last day of training. Applicants also need to pass an American Red Cross pre-qualification assessment for shallow water lifeguards. The test includes being able to smoothly swim 300 yards, tread water for 2 minutes without using hands and retrieve a 10-pound weight from the pool within a set time.

Lifeguards employed by FCPR may be eligible for reimbursement of the course fee for lifeguard certification.

Lifeguard Certification Courses

Courses are held throughout the year and are generally a blended learning format (online and in person sessions required). Must be able to pass a pre-qualifying assessment to take the course (listed above). Successful candidates will be eligible to apply for employment with the City of Fayetteville.

Swim League

Registration is March 1-May 1. League runs May-July. League age is the age attained by a player prior to August 1 of the current playing year. Swimmer must be able to swim (front crawl/freestyle) the length of the pool and will need goggles, swim cap and one-piece swimsuit. Volunteer swim coaches are needed. 7-17 yrs; $40 residents; $80 non-residents; $5 late fee


Swim Camp

Several swim camps throughout the summer will focus on the basic swimming strokes and increasing competency with water skills and provide a fun learning environment. Camps will be separated by age (5-10 yrs and 11-17 yrs). Swim caps are required.
5-17 yrs; Tues.-Fri.; June-Aug.; 8:30-10:30 am; $120/camp resident; $240/camp non-resident

Know Before You Go!

Fees

Effective with the opening of the pools in 2025, pool entry fees for residents will be $4 for ages 13+ and $3 for ages 12 and under. Non-resident pool entry fees will be $8 for ages 13+ and $6 for ages 12 and under.


Group Visits

Groups may visit the pools, pending capacity. Groups will need to complete the FCPR Aquatic Group Visit Agreement(PDF, 537KB) form prior to entry.
