Even though Jamari was just a lookout, all three boys are charged with Felony Breaking or Entering of a Building, which is a class H felony (4-30 months in prison), Felony Larceny, which is a class H felony (4 months–30 months in prison), and Felony Possession of Stolen Goods, which is also a class H felony (4 months–30 months in prison). Andy already has a record, so gets more time. The cases would be filed in Juvenile Court, but the Prosecutor could ask the judge to waive all the boys to Adult Court. *If younger than 16, they will only be in jail until they are 18.
School
Be aware of what your school’s policy is on this issue, because some schools have a zero-tolerance stance on such behaviors. Law Enforcement may report all criminal activity off of school grounds to the school system.

Imagine how this experience might affect each of the people involved, including the victims, the perpetrators, as well as their family and friends. Different people are affected differently.
If you or a friend are being pressured to be in a gang, make sure you tell someone you trust (such as a teacher, family member, friend, police officer). Gangs are not the only way to “fit in.”
