FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations (FCHR) Department is set to host a dining and dialogue event on Nov. 19 to provide community members an opportunity to learn about the various faith traditions in Cumberland County. This event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, 352 Devers Street, Fayetteville, NC.
The goal of dining and dialogue is to create a space to heighten awareness by having meaningful conversation designed to build bridges, break down barriers and promote positive human relations throughout our community.
“We hope when attendees leave this event, they will have a deeper understanding that religions share more common ground than differences,” Human Relations Director Yamile Nazar stated. “Interfaith awareness begins with recognizing that our similarities outweigh our differences, creating space for unity, respect and shared humanity,” she added.
Speakers on the panelist will be faith leaders from around the City and Cumberland County.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by Nov. 12 at FayettevilleNC.gov/HumanRelations.
