FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -The Fayetteville Regional Airport (FAY) held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of phase III renovations today, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. This milestone marks the completion to all main terminal renovations.

The newest additions to FAY included updated gates in the B Concourse, VIP lounge for distinguished guests, expanded seating options, additional airline offices and employee lounges for new potential airline partners.

Phase one of the main terminal renovations began in 2017 starting with the A Concourse. FAY received a total of $61 million in federal and state funding for the main terminal renovations from NCDOT Division of Aviation and Federal Aviation Administration, specifically appropriated for airport improvement.

Phase one renovations consisted of adding four new jet bridges, a complete demolition and rebuild of Concourse A, and a new restaurant along with utility upgrades and improvements to PWC transformers.

During phase two, the renovations included expansion of the facility, several new and updated amenities including the terminal entrance canopy, enhanced security screening checkpoint area, reconstruction of the rental parking lot, new airline offices and counter spaces, new escalators and elevators, upgraded baggage claim wings and new administrative offices.

The completion of this renovation preludes the beginning of the international arrivals facility, breaking ground in 2026.

The airport recently received two grants in August to support of development and construction of an international arrivals facility.

The international arrivals facility will initially be used for military aircraft returning from overseas, however, the goal of this terminal is to create an entry point for international commercial, an on-airport military flight department supporting US Army Reserve Command and US Army Forces Command, as well as regular military international travel via military and charter aircraft.

Whether passengers are traveling to see loved ones for the holidays, embarking on the dream vacation of a lifetime, making a quick trip to for a business meeting, FAY services continues to grow and provide passengers with both comfort and convenience.
