FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - According to the 2025 North Carolina: The State of Aviation report by the North Carolina Department of Transportation Division of Aviation, Fayetteville Regional Airport (FAY) contributes more than $829.2 million the local economy.
FAY has seen additional flight frequencies added and growth in passengers, adding to the expansion of economic impact for the Fayetteville area. FAY supports 5,285 jobs and leases space for 73 aircrafts.
“It truly is such an exciting time to step into the role of Airport Director at FAY,” said Airport Director Andrew LaGala. “We look forward to the next steps towards the future of FAY, including the groundbreaking of our International Arrivals facility and strengthening our commitment to travelers and our Fayetteville community.”
This new report reveals that North Carolina’s 72 publicly owned airports annually contribute to the state’s economy with an economic impact of $88 billion, with $4.8 billion being contributed to state and local tax revenues.
The State of Aviation report helps guide investment in aviation infrastructure and provides a tool for recruiting aviation and aerospace industry companies and investment.
