Habitual Offender Arrested

(Fayetteville, NC)- On December 8, 2025, the Fayetteville Police Department’s Gang Unit and Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of the Fayetteville Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT), arrested habitual offender, Matthew Ellis McQueen (White male, 26 years of age) of Fayetteville, N.C.
 
On December 8, 2025, Matthew McQueen was taken into custody without incident on an outstanding arrest warrant for Felonious Maintaining a Dwelling for the Purpose of Keeping and Selling a Controlled Substance.
 
After this arrest, the Fayetteville Police Department executed a search warrant at McQueen’s residence located along the 1800 block of Tryon Drive. The search warrant resulted in the seizure of two firearms (one stolen), 1.93 grams of fentanyl, and 119 grams of marijuana.
 
McQueen was charged with two counts of Maintaining a Dwelling for the Purpose of Keeping and Selling a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, and Deliver a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Possession of Firearm by Felon.
 
In July 2021, McQueen was convicted of Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, and Deliver Schedule I and Schedule II Controlled Substances and placed on probation. In March 2022, McQueen received a 90-day confinement in Response to Violation (CRV) for violating the terms of his probation. In April 2023, McQueen was sentenced to 36 months in federal prison for offenses including Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime. McQueen was released from federal custody on December 26, 2024, to serve a period of supervised release on federal probation.
 
McQueen is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond. The Fayetteville Police Department remains committed to holding repeat offenders accountable.
