Homicide Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – On April 29, 2026, at approximately 1:49 a.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to reports of a suspicious person along the 4500 block of Ruby Road that led to the discovery of a deceased person at a residence along the 1000 block of Abrams Street.
Officers made contact with a suspicious adult male along the 4500 block of Ruby Road. Based on that interaction, the male was taken into custody and led officers to a residence along the 1000 block of Abrams Street, where officers entered the unsecured home and located a deceased adult female with multiple stab wounds.
The Fayetteville Police Department's Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
This is an active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
