Homicide Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) – On March 15, 2026, at approximately 1:27 a.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting along the 1500 block of Graystone Road, where a victim later succumbed to their injuries.

Officers and Emergency Medical Service personnel arrived at the residence and located one individual suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Service personnel transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The Fayetteville Police Department's Aggravated Assault Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a house party was held at a residence along the 1500 block of Graystone Road. An Altercation ensued, shots were fired, and one individual was wounded.

At approximately 4:05 a.m., the victim succumbed to their injuries, and the Fayetteville Police Department was notified. The identity of the victim is currently being withheld pending identity confirmation and next of kin notification.

The Fayetteville Police Department's Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation.

This is an isolated and active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
