Fayetteville Police Department Launches 2025 Pedestrian Safety Campaign
(Fayetteville, N.C.) –The Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit is committed to promoting road safety and reducing pedestrian-related incidents. As part of this effort, officers conducted a community outreach initiative on March 3, 2025, in the area of Owen Drive and Boone Trail to engage with residents and emphasize the importance of safe driving and pedestrian awareness.
During the initiative, Traffic Unit officers visited Channing Place Apartments, going door to door to educate residents on staying safe as both drivers and pedestrians. Officers distributed more than 500 informational pamphlets and provided local businesses with safety posters to help spread awareness throughout the community.
“Our efforts with the 2025 Pedestrian Safety Campaign focus on raising awareness and providing education to help residents take necessary safety measures to prevent pedestrian-related incidents,” said Lieutenant Kiger of the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit.
The 2025 Pedestrian Safety Campaign is designed to raise awareness, provide key safety tips, and highlight pedestrian-friendly improvements. By working together, we can create a safer, more walkable Fayetteville.
The Fayetteville Police Department appreciates the support of local businesses in the Owen Drive and Boone Trail areas. Their partnership plays a crucial role in spreading the message of traffic safety and fostering a safer community for all.
