Death Investigation Update

(Fayetteville, NC) – On March 20, 2025, at approximately 12:23 PM, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a report of human remains located near the All-American Freeway at the Cliffdale Road off-ramp.

The remains were identified as Jaylin Isaiah Dilday (Black male, 20 years old).

Following an examination by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, it was confirmed that Dilday died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.

Dilday was reported missing in May of 2023. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, and red Crocs.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact the Fayetteville Police Department.
