Homicide Investigation Update

(Fayetteville, NC) - On April 13, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to College Lake Recreational Center in reference to a shooting.

The victim has been identified as Jalyn Thornton (Black male, 22 years old) of Fayetteville, NC. His next of kin has been notified.

This remains an active investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Pleze at (910) 676-2596.

Homicide Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) – On April 13, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to College Lake Recreational Center in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit are actively investigating this homicide, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
