Traffic Fatality Pedestrian Struck Update
(Fayetteville, NC) – The victim involved in the traffic collision that occurred on April 12, 2025, at approximately 8:34 p.m. in the area of North Reilly Road at Telfair Drive has been identified as Suk Kyong Szafranski (Asian female, 78 years old) of Fayetteville, NC.
Arrest Made in Pedestrian Fatality Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC)- On April 28, 2025, the Fayetteville Police Department received a CrimeStoppers tip related to a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on April 12, 2025. Detectives with the department’s Traffic Investigative Unit began following leads developed from the tip.
On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, detectives located a 2021 Kia Forte with damage consistent with the collision in the front yard of a home in the 500 block of Auburndale Drive in the Loch Lomond subdivision. A suspect identified through the tip was found at the residence and detained along with the registered owner of the vehicle.
Jamal Andre Holliday, Black male, (35) was subsequently charged with Felony Hit-and-Run and Driving with a Revoked License. He was booked into the Cumberland County Detention Center and held on a $35,000 secured bond.
Detectives Seek Assistance Identifying Suspect and Vehicle in Pedestrian Fatality
(Fayetteville, NC) – On April 12 at approximately 8:34 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department Traffic Unit responded to a pedestrian-involved hit-and-run near N. Reilly Road and Telfair Drive.
The victim was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where they later succumbed to their injuries. Their identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
The suspect vehicle fled the scene heading south on N. Reilly Road and has not been identified.
Detectives are asking for the public’s help. If you were in the area of N. Reilly Road between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday and saw a vehicle with front passenger-side damage, possibly with a broken or non-functioning headlight, please contact Police Specialist Biggerstaff at 910-751-1382. The suspected vehicle fled the scene headed South on N. Reilly Road and cannot be identified at this time.
This is an active investigation.
