Sexually Motivated Assault
(Fayetteville, NC) –Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Special Victims Unit are actively investigating a sexually motivated assault.
On December 18, 2025, while a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy was conducting a traffic stop near the 100 block of Grove Street the operator of the motor vehicle notified the deputy that they had been a victim of a previous sexual assault which occurred during the evening hours of December 17, 2025, around the 2400 block of Murchison Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown suspect committed the assault. The suspect is described as an unknown race male with a raspy voice wearing a thick, unknown color jacket.
