Suspect Wanted for Removing Electronic Monitoring Device

(Fayetteville, NC) – A suspect has cut and removed the GPS ankle monitoring device while out on bond.

On April 28, 2026, at approximately 7:44 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Rim Road in reference to a strap-tamper alert on the GPS ankle monitor that was installed on Genesis Naszer Whitted (Black male, 21 years of age) of Fayetteville, N.C. 

It was found that Genesis Whitted had cut and removed the GPS ankle monitor that was installed after he posted his secured bond. Whitted was out on bond for Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property.

Genesis Whitted is described as a black male being approximately 6’03" in height and weighing approximately 170 lbs. His direction and mode of travel are currently unknown. Members of the Fayetteville Police Departments Electronic Monitoring Unit are actively looking for Genesis Whitted at this time.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Genesis Whitted is asked to call 911 immediately or contact Officer J. Rivera at (910)705-5955.
