Traffic Fatality

(Fayetteville, NC) – Investigators with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit are investigating a fatal vehicle crash which occurred Friday, January 2, 2026 at approximately 12:44 pm, on Cliffdale Road near Regency Drive.

Upon arrival, officers located two vehicles involved in the collision. Three people were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment, where one person succumbed to their injuries.

Cliffdale Road is currently closed between Bunce Road and Pritchett Road while the Traffic Unit conducts an on-scene investigation. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. The roadway is expected to reopen by 4 p.m.

The Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit continues to actively investigate this crash. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
