Update to Homicide Investigation

(Fayetteville, NC) – On Thursday, September 11, 2025, at approximately 10:57 pm, officers with the Fayetteville Police Department were dispatched to a ShotSpotter notification along the 2500 block of Caledonia Circle.

Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male and an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds. Medical personnel were summoned to the scene and both victims were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in critical condition. The female victim succumbed to her injuries sustained during the shooting.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Departments Homicide Unit arrived on scene and assumed the investigation.

The female victim has been identified as Tamika Tyler (black female, 36 years of age) of Fayetteville, NC. Her next of kin has been notified.

The male victim is in critical condition and receiving medical attention at a UNC medical facility.

The preliminary investigation revealed the victims and a rear passenger were traveling on Caledonia Circle in a white Chevy Equinox. The male victim was driving, and Tamika Tyler was the front seat passenger of the vehicle. As they were traveling, the rear passenger shot the victims multiple times from the rear seat of the vehicle, exited the vehicle, and fled from the scene on foot. The male victim drove into the driveway of a residence he was not familiar with, located along the 2500 block of Caledonia Circle.

The suspect was identified at Quantavious Paige (black male, 31 years of age) of the 800 block of Wilbon Drive.

Quantavious Paige

On Friday, September 12, 2025, Homicide Detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of Quantavious Paige for First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, and Assault With a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Fayetteville State University Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Murchison Road. Quantavious Paige was a passenger in the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident.

Quantavious Paige was transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center where he is being held under no bond.
