Update to Homicide Investigation-Suspect Arrested

(Fayetteville, NC) – On April 29, 2026, at approximately 1:49 a.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to reports of a suspicious person along the 4500 block of Ruby Road that led to the discovery of a deceased person at a residence along the 1000 block of Abrams Street.

The victim has been identified as Nadine Seeney Dove (Black female, 63 years of age) of Fayetteville, N.C. Her next-of-kin has been notified.

The preliminary investigation revealed that officers responded to reports of a suspicious person along the 4500 block of Ruby Road. Officers made contact with the suspicious adult male, later identified as Orlando Montague Pone (Black male, 53 years of age) of Fayetteville, N.C. Based on that interaction, Pone was taken into custody, and he led officers to a residence along the 1000 block of Abrams Street, where officers entered the unsecured home and located a deceased adult female, later identified as Nadine Seeney Dove, with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.

Orlando Montague Pone was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder in the death of Nadine Dove. Pone is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.

At this time, the relationship between Nadine Dove and Orlando Pone and the circumstances surrounding her death are actively being investigated.

Homicide Investigation

Officers made contact with a suspicious adult male along the 4500 block of Ruby Road. Based on that interaction, the male was taken into custody and led officers to a residence along the 1000 block of Abrams Street, where officers entered the unsecured home and located a deceased adult female with multiple stab wounds.

The Fayetteville Police Department's Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
