Update to Homicide Wanted Suspect
(Fayetteville, NC) – On April 24, 2026, Jordan Chancellor Whipple (Black male, 33 years of age) of Fayetteville, N.C., who was wanted for the shooting death of Tony Chance, which occurred along the 700 block of Blue Street on Monday, March 9th, 2026, turned himself in to the Fayetteville Police Department.
Jordan Whipple was charged and arrested for First Degree Murder. Whipple is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.
Anyone with information regarding the homicide of Tony Chance is asked to contact Detective C. Johnson at (910) 584-6703.

Homicide Detectives Seeking Public’s Assistance Locating A Wanted Suspect
(Fayetteville, NC) – Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have obtained arrest warrants for a suspect in connection with the homicide of Tony Chance, which occurred along the 700 block of Blue Street on Monday, March 9th, 2026.
Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit have obtained warrants for the arrest of Jordan Chancellor Whipple (Black male, 33 years of age) of Fayetteville, N.C. Whipple has been charged with 1st Degree Murder.
Detectives are encouraging family and friends of Jordan Whipple to have him turn himself in to law enforcement. Detectives also ask anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Whipple to be cautious and contact law enforcement immediately, as he is considered armed and dangerous.
