Update to Traffic Fatality - Yadkin Rd at Cimarron Dr

(Fayetteville, NC) – On December 19, 2025, at approximately 12:55 p.m. officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to a collision involving multiple vehicles and a motorcycle that resulted in a fatality.

 

The Fayetteville Police Department's Traffic Unit responded to the scene and assumed investigation.  

 

Preliminary investigation determined the motorcycle was traveling on Yadkin from Santa Fe Drive toward Lake Valley Drive, attempting to pass vehicles in the center turn lane while a Ford truck was in the turn lane trying to turn left onto Cimarron Drive. The motorcycle rider attempted to swerve into oncoming traffic but hit the left rear of the Ford truck and was thrown from the motorcycle into a third vehicle traveling on Yadkin toward Santa Fe Drive. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at the scene.

 

The motorcyclist has been identified as an active-duty soldier at Fort Bragg, N.C. The identity of the decedent will not be released until military personnel have notified their next of kin.

(Fayetteville, NC) – Due to a traffic fatality on Yadkin Road at Cimarron Drive all lanes of travel are currently closed as the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit is actively investigating the vehicle crash.

 

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and utilize an alternate route. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
