Boo to litter! Keep Fayetteville clean
Published on October 23, 2025
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – As families prepare for trick-or-treating, the city of Fayetteville’s Solid Waste Division is calling on all residents to keep neighborhoods clean and safe by properly disposing of candy wrappers, bags and other trash.
Halloween often brings increased foot traffic and more chances for trash on streets and sidewalks. Residents are asked to reduce cleanup burdens by:
• Carrying a bag or container for wrappers and trash.
• Placing waste in the appropriate City-issued rollout carts only and set carts out by 6 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
“Keeping our city clean is a shared responsibility,” said Daniel Edwards, Assistant Director of Public Services. “By working together this Halloween, we can make sure Fayetteville stays welcoming and safe for everyone.”
Residents are encouraged to report any trash or illegal dumping through the FayFixIt app. The FayFixIt app is a mobile app that can be used for a variety of issues such as reporting problems with graffiti, street maintenance, street lighting, litter and code and ordinance violations.
