City offices closed today, residents encouraged to drive with caution

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - City government offices will be closed today, Jan. 22 due to winter weather and icy road conditions.  

Updates/Changes to City Services :

  • City Hall will be closed to the public.
  • Residents are encouraged to visit FayettevilleNC.gov for any services that can be completed online. 
  • Solid Waste services will be delayed until roads are safe for crews to operate. Residents are encouraged to place their rollout carts out for collection. No yard waste will be collected this week. Yard waste is set to resume as normal next week. For updates on Solid Waste services, visit FayettevilleNC.gov/SolidWaste
  • FAST transit services will tentatively begin at 1 p.m. and services will conclude at their regular time. For route details, please visit RideFAST.net.  
  • Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation facilities and gated parks are closed. 
  • Passengers who are traveling with the Fayetteville Regional Airport are encouraged to contact their airline directly for any questions on flight schedules.  
  • City street crews are actively plowing and treating city-maintained roads to ensure safer travel on current road conditions. Drivers are reminded to stay off the roads and if travel is necessary, be extra cautious while driving. 
  • City officials ask that drivers give plow trucks plenty of space to operate. 
  • Residents are encouraged to call 911 for any emergencies, including downed trees or powerlines on a road.    
  • City officials will continue to monitor the roads and provide updates as necessary.
