FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - With Winter Storm Cora moving closer to the Carolinas, the city is preparing for the impact of expected wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain. City street crews began applying brine to city-owned parking lots and bridges Wednesday morning and will continue treating roads through Friday afternoon, along with NCDOT. City crews will be on standby throughout the winter storm.
Updates/Changes to City Services

FAST services will end at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10. Starting Saturday, Jan. 11 through Sunday, Jan. 12, FAST services will begin services at 10 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. For route details, please visit RideFAST.net.
Passengers who are traveling with the Fayetteville Regional Airport are encouraged to contact their airline directly for any questions on travel and/or flight schedules.
Residents are encouraged to stay off the roads, if possible, and if not, be extra cautious while driving. Driving at posted speeds could be extremely dangerous when snow and ice are on the road. Many vehicles lose traction especially at higher speeds resulting in serious accident and vehicle rollovers.
Emergency services, including police and fire, are on high alert to respond to weather-related incidents.
