FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The city of Fayetteville invites residents to join a community conversation on Wednesday, June 11 from 6 to 7:30 PM at J.S. Spivey Recreation Center, located at 500 Fisher Street.

The purpose of the meeting is to engage the public in helping determine the highest and best use of city-owned land located at Blount and Gillespie Streets. This effort is part of a broader initiative to ensure that land development strategies align with community needs, economic opportunity, and long-term impact.

During the meeting, attendees will receive background on the ongoing site study, learn about the planning process, and have the opportunity to weigh in on what they would like to see developed.

Community input is needed to answer key questions:

  • What types of parks and open space would you be interested in seeing at the site?
  • What types of development should occur? Housing? New restaurants? Office space?
  • How can the Blount and Gillespie site help build on the success of Downtown Fayetteville?

In addition to the event, an online survey will be available for those unable to attend in person. Residents can visit FayettevilleNC.gov/ECD to share their input.
