City sets budget work sessions, public hearing for May

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - City Council will host a series of budget work sessions to discuss the proposed fiscal year 2027 budget. The sessions will be held on May 14, 21 and 28 at 10 a.m. at City Hall, 433 Hay Street. City Manager Douglas Hewett is set to present the City's recommended budget at the first session on Thursday, May 14 at 10 a.m.

Community members will have an opportunity to provide feedback on how city funds are allocated during the public hearing at the City Council regular meeting held on May 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Residents who wish to speak at the public hearing can sign up with the City Clerk by registering on the website at FayettevilleNC.gov/Clerk, by phone at 910-433-1989 or by email at CityClerk@FayettevilleNC.gov. Anyone desiring to speak must sign up by 5 p.m. the day of the meeting.

The budget work sessions will be open to the public and residents can watch live on the City's government access channel, FayTV. FayTV is available on Spectrum Channel 7, on FayTV.net and on the FayTV app available on most streaming devices.
