City to host cleanup event in Bonnie Doone Neighborhood

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The City of Fayetteville will host a community cleanup event in the Bonnie Doone Neighborhood, focusing on the area surrounding Bonnie Street, Fieldcrest Drive and Mullis Street, on Saturday, June 13, from 8 to 11 a.m.

This cleanup event is part of the City’s ongoing effort to reduce illegal dumping, address code violations and improve neighborhood safety and appearance throughout Fayetteville.

Residents are encouraged to place eligible items curbside before the event begins. Bulky items, construction debris, yard waste and large limbs will be collected. Regular household waste and prohibited materials will not be accepted.

“This effort is about more than simply removing debris,” said Delvon Paden, RAPID Supervisor. “It is an opportunity to engage directly with residents, connect them with resources, address community concerns, and work together to create cleaner and safer neighborhoods.”

The Bonnie Doone Neighborhood cleanup marks the second community cleanup event. The City’s first cleanup effort, held in the Seabrook Hills Neighborhood, resulted in the collection of approximately 9.8 tons of debris and discarded materials.

The City’s cleanup initiative is expected to occur periodically, depending on community needs and available resources. Neighborhoods are selected based on data analysis, resident feedback and service requests. Residents are encouraged to report non-emergency code violations and infrastructure problems through the FayFixIt app or by calling 910-433-1FAY (1329).
