Downtown street closures planned for Fayetteville Dogwood Festival

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Multiple streets in Downtown Fayetteville will be closed as the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival takes place April 24–26, alongside Fourth Friday.
Fayetteville Dogwood Event Road Closures (Friday, April 24 – Sunday, April 26):
Starting on Friday, April 24 at 6 a.m., the following roads will be closed for the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival:
- Ray Avenue from Hay Street to Rowan Street
- Maiden Lane closed at Anderson Street
- Mason Street closed at Arch Street
Roads will reopen after the festival on Sunday, April 26, at 11 p.m.
Fourth Friday Road Closures (Friday, April 24):
Starting on Friday, April 24, at 3 p.m., the following roads will be closed for the Fourth Friday event:
- Hay Street from Pittman Street to Maxwell and Burgess Streets
- Ray Ave from Hay Street to Franklin Street
Roads will reopen after the Fourth Friday event, with the exception of Ray Avenue from Hay Street to Rowan Street.
Once the street closures occur, no vehicles will be allowed within the festival footprint. Drivers in the downtown area should follow the signage directing traffic around the closures.
Downtown Parking
Downtown Parking in city lots and parking garages are available with the standard $5 parking fee for large events.
On-street parking is also available in the downtown area. On weekends, on-street parking spots are free, including on baseball game days and other downtown events.
Attendees should be aware that private parking lots are not owned by the City and will charge patrons their own rates across the downtown area.
FAST Routes
Fayetteville Area System of Transit will have routes affected by the street closures. Route 4 will run a detour April 24 through April 26. Plan accordingly for the alternative route and allow for additional travel time to and from destinations. Updates to the schedule will be provided as they are made available. Festival Park Clear Bag Policy
Attendees planning to visit Festival Park during the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival should be aware of the event’s clear bag policy. All bags must be clear and meet posted size requirements to be permitted inside the venue.
Chairs carried in bags will be subject to inspection, and all chairs must be removed from bags upon entry. Guests with bags that do not meet policy requirements will not be permitted entry.

Various City departments will be set up at Festival Park Plaza during the festival, offering attendees an opportunity to connect with staff and learn more about City programs and services.
