FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -  The city of Fayetteville is seeking residents to help fill two commissioner vacancies on the Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC).

Commission members must live in Fayetteville during their four-year term. Each commissioner has a limit of two consecutive terms. Appointees must be well-respected, have good business judgement and be capable of making sound financial and management decisions.

The PWC board holds a regular meeting the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m., unless the meeting falls on a holiday.

Applicants can apply now through March 31 at Fayettevillenc.gov/boards. All qualified applications will be presented to the Appointments Committee. City Council will then approve the recommended applicants at a regular meeting.

Boards and commissions are a great way for residents to engage in their community and continue to build a greater Fayetteville. Volunteers who are appointed to the boards and commissions by City Council serve as the link that connects residents to its governing body and serve as advisors that help shape the policies and programs of Fayetteville.

For more information on how to get involved on boards and commissions, please email boards@fayettevillenc.gov or call the Clerk’s office at 910-433-1989.
