FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville Next Commission, in collaboration with CNSTNT DVLPMNT, Two-Six Labs and DICK’S House of Sport, hosted an exclusive Intro to Sneaker Design Workshop for 20 selected students from Anne Chesnutt Middle School on Thursday, Oct. 30.

CNSTNT DVLPMNT Founder and Creative Director Chris Dixon, former Jack Britt High School student and Fayetteville native, held this one-day, hands-on workshop, introducing students to the art and innovation of sneaker design while showcasing creative career opportunities within the footwear industry. Participants collaborated with professional designers, learn key elements of product creation and design their own custom sneaker concepts to take home.

CNSTNT DVLPMNT pronounced as Constant Development, seeks to elevate young creatives and facilitate diverse growth in creative industries.

“The Constant Development Workshop reflected the true spirit of what it means to invest in our city’s future,” L’queitah Miller, Vice Chair of the Fayetteville Next Commission stated. “Through collaboration, mentorship and opportunity, our young residents were inspired to see their potential and power as future leaders.”

The workshop continued at DICK’S House of Sport for a lunch and learn session. Before wrapping the event up, each participant was gifted a pair of sneakers.

“Fayetteville Next is proud to stand alongside community partners like The Two-Six Project, Constant Development, Dick’s House of Sport and others who share our commitment to uplifting the next generation and building a stronger, more connected Fayetteville,” Miller added.

The Fayetteville Next Advisory Commission, established to attract, retain, and engage Fayetteville residents between the ages of 19 and 39, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for young adults through targeted event programming and community outreach initiatives, making Fayetteville a “desirable place to live, work and recreate” for this generation.
