FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The city is inviting residents to signup for the city-wide spring cleanup event, Fayetteville Beautiful. The Fayetteville Beautiful event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 12.

This bi-annual event provides an opportunity for residents to assist the city in reducing the amount of litter and other pollutants on city streets, parks and in stormwater systems.

Fayetteville Beautiful not only builds a sense of community pride but also enhances our community's landscape, boosts economic growth opportunities, and helps create a healthier environment.

Last year, between the city’s spring and fall city-wide cleanup, residents collected over one ton of litter in the city.

Volunteers are encouraged to organize volunteer groups within their workplace, church, neighborhood, family, or school composed of people interested in removing roadside litter. Then visit FayettevilleBeautiful.com to register and select a location on the interactive map to clean up. It could be a road in the neighborhood or any road within the city.

Supply pickup for residents participating in Fayetteville Beautiful will be available on April 12 from 8 am to noon at 324 Mason Street. For safety, residents are encouraged to clean up during daylight hours on April 12.

The litter picked up during the event will be collected on Monday, April 14.

Residents or volunteer groups that would like to participate in the city-sponsored cleanup, please visit FayettevilleBeautiful.com to sign up.
