FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Community members seeking to start, grow or sustain nonprofits in the Fayetteville area are encouraged to register for three upcoming free workshops hosted by the city’s Economic and Community Development department (ECD). The department works with local nonprofit agencies and potential future community partners to help build community capacity within local organizations to better serve residents.
The upcoming workshops will cover essential topics such as establishing a nonprofit, management, fundraising and financial reporting.
The first workshop scheduled for Feb. 18 focuses on establishing and operating a nonprofit organization. The second workshop set for March 6 will discuss onboarding and managing board members, volunteers and donors. The final workshop will be on April 8 to teach attendees how to generate sustainable income through grants, sponsorships and fundraising campaigns.
These workshops are set to start at 6:30 p.m.
“Strong nonprofits are important to meeting the real, everyday needs of our community,” Economic and Community Development Director Chris Cauley said. “These workshops are about building the leadership, structure and sustainability needed to serve residents effectively for the long term.”
Spaces are limited and registration is required. Locations for workshops will be given once registered. Those interested can fill out the interest form under the What’s Happening? Tab at FayettevilleNC.gov/ECD.
