Road closure in downtown begins May 5

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Road detours around the roundabout at the 100 blocks of Person, Hay, Green, and Gillespie Streets will be in place May 5–7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. These detours are necessary while repairs are made to the Market House. 

Contractors will be working on the Historic Market House to repair deteriorated woodwork over the next four to five months.  

Similar closures, each lasting one to three days, will be required throughout the preservation project.  

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use caution when traveling through the area.
