Scholarship applications available to local high school students

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations Commission (FCHRC) is accepting scholarship applications from Cumberland County high school seniors until March 26.   

High school, private school, and homeschool graduating seniors seeking financial assistance to attend a two- or four-year college or university are encouraged to apply. 

The scholarship award is $1,000, and eligibility will be determined based on the following criteria: 

  • Student has resided in Cumberland County for at least one year immediately prior to applying for this scholarship. 
  • Student will be a senior in a high school located in Cumberland County. 
  • Student has maintained an average of 2.50 GPA (unweighted) or better. 
  • Student has been admitted as a full-time student to an accredited course of study at a two or four-year college or university. 

Completed scholarship packets can be submitted by mail or dropped off in person at the Fayetteville-Cumberland Human Relations Department, Festival Park Plaza, 225 Ray Ave., Suite 100. Mailed applications must be postmarked by March 26.
