FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The city of Fayetteville’s Solid Waste Division is sending residents an updated collection calendar with important changes beginning on Dec. 2.

The updated calendar adjusts the first week of December to a B-week collection, indicated by red on the calendar.  The revised schedule ensures continuity in the A/B week rotation and extends through December 2025.

The 2025 calendar follows a 12-month calendar year, from January to December, and includes holiday collection information through January 2026.

“We want to provide residents with as much information as possible,” said Daniel Edwards, Assistant Director of Public Services. “We hope to eliminate any confusion when it comes to what you can and can’t recycle, as well as provide residents with an accurate collection schedule, so they know exactly what to expect in 2025.”

The city is mailing the new collection calendar and residents should expect it by mid-December.  Residents can also download the updated calendar at FayettevilleNC.gov/SolidWaste.

Solid waste customers are encouraged to discard the current calendar to ensure they are following the most up-to-date information.

Residents can contact the call center at 910-433-1FAY(1329) or visit FayettevilleNC.gov/SolidWaste for more information.
