Temporary road closure around Market House work scheduled

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Market House roundabout in Downtown Fayetteville will be temporarily closed Dec. 10 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the installation of the four clocks on top of the historic structure.

The road closures will take place on each approach of the roundabout:

• Hay St. from Donaldson and Anderson St. to the Market House
• Green St. from Maiden Lane to the Market House
• Person St. from Otis Jones Parkway and Bow St. to the Market House
• Gilespie St. from Ottis Jones Parkway and Franklin St. to the Market House

Detour routes will be clearly marked, and drivers are encouraged to follow posted signage. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time when driving downtown during the closure period.

Businesses will be open despite the road closure and pedestrian access to surrounding businesses and public spaces will remain open.

The clocks were removed from the structure for repairs.
