FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville Regional Airport (FAY) Deputy Director Deontae Watson has been appointed Vice President of the North Carolina Airports Association (NCAA) for the 2026-27 term.
“Serving on the North Carolina Airports Association board has been an honor,” Deputy Airport Director Deontae Watson said. “Airports connect communities and support economic growth, and I look forward to continuing this work alongside aviation leaders across the state.”
Watson was appointed on March 19 at the NCAA 46th Annual Conference in Charlotte, N.C.

In his new role, Watson will collaborate with aviation leaders to guide the association’s initiatives, strengthen airport partnerships and advocate for resources that enhance North Carolina’s aviation system.
Since joining Fayetteville Regional Airport, Watson has improved operations and safety while advancing key strategic initiatives. His leadership has helped build strong industry partnerships and reinforced the airport’s mission to provide safe, efficient and accessible air service.
“Deontae’s appointment reflects his leadership and understanding of the aviation industry,” Airport Director Andrew LaGala said. “We are proud to see him being recognized at the state level.”
Watson has served on the Association’s Board of Directors since 2022.
