Bid Whist

Bid Whist is a partnership trick-taking variant of the classic card game whist. As indicated by the name, Bid Whist adds a bidding element to the game that is not present in classic Whist. Whist is all about art, style, tradition — and smack talking. It's also a gathering point for friends to throw down at the card table.

Billiards Room

Sharpen your mind with a game of pool. Those who frequently play billiards and pool often have clearer minds. This game is 90 percent mental and the remainder is physical. Join others in a game of pool and enjoy the afternoon while meeting new friends here at the Senior Center East. Billiards is an activity also played at the Senior Games, so come and brush up on your skills and play on one to two billiards tables at Senior Center East.

Bingo

Bingo helps seniors to stay engaged while maintaining focus and mental acuity while providing the opportunity to socialize. Bingo is free to play on Tues. and participants pay quarters to play on Mon. and Thurs. Winnings go to the winning participant(s) of each game.

Canasta

Want to learn a new card game or maybe you are a seasoned canasta vet!  Join us at Senior Center East playing Canasta for all levels. Canasta is a card game where players try to score points by declaring sets of cards that contain seven or more of the same rank and is from the rummy playing family.  Come play weekly.

Chess Club

Want to improve your cognitive skills and memory capacity? Need to improve your patience and critical thinking? If so, take some time out to meet new friends and play a game of chess. Once you learn the basic rules, chess is a fun and challenging game. One of the best parts is just how different the next game will be.

Jigsaw Puzzle Time

We have a puzzle set up for you...Come on in, sit down, and help us complete a jigsaw puzzle. Puzzles are a great meditation tool. They also improve short-term memory. Good for your mind, body, and spirit.

Living It Out - Word Empowerment

Let's have fun together in the word and Live It Out.  Join Apostle Gail Pate and the Healing Hands of Love Kingdom Connections International with some fun and inspiring ways to study the bible.  Try your hand at trivia, fun facts, or did you knows.  Prepare to have a fun time during this hour long empowerment in the word.

Mahjong

Similar to a game of rummy, Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and luck that is growing in popularity. It is played with a set of 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and requires four players. Mahjong may provide good mental health benefits, develop cognitive skills and provides a great opportunity to socialize and make new friends. Participants may provide their own cards.  Come learn to play on Fridays.

Senior East Cinema

Bring a friend, sit back and relax while watching a movie. A different movie will be provided each month. Popcorn and light refreshments provided.

Music Bingo

Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare sponsor Music Bingo performed by Mr. Bowtie.  The music is different monthly and winners win prizes brought by Blue Cross Blue Shield.  Come and sing along to your favorite songs before yelling BINGO!

Pinochle

Strategic Game of cards - Ace~Ten card game typically for two to four players and played with a 48 card deck of cards with bidding, melds and trick taking to score points. Seasoned or brand new players are welcome. Weekly games are held at Senior Center East.

Pokeno

This is a combination of Bingo and Poker sure to engage your mind and great for socialization. A single game has five possible ways to win and is played with a deck of playing cards. Each player pays five cents for each pot totaling 25 cents each game. Maximum of 12 players. Bring your nickels and let’s play!

Spades

So you say you can play Spades... A traditionally 4 player card game of strategy and luck. Spades uses a standard 52 card deck with Aces high, 2s low, and Spades trumping all. Spades is a trick-taking card game with the objective to take the number of tricks that were bid before play of the hand began. Spades will help improve your memory, sharpen your mind while you build new relationships and the opportunity to socialize with others.

Cardio Drumming with Dina

Cardio drumming is a form of exercise that uses drumming movements and does not require any previous experience. Participants use drumsticks to hit an exercise ball that is placed on a bucket while keeping the beat to music.

New You Tai Chi

Embrace a fresh start in 2025, the year of the snake. Learn a new skill, improve your health, increase your strength, 
flexibility and balance through slow purposeful movement.  Classes are open to all and beginners are welcome.

Masquerade Ball 

Let's celebrate the Halloween season this year with a fun costume party.  This is a semi-formal dress up party with mask required.  Join us for an evening of mystery and dance.  Find a Mask and Wear it Well so your True Identity None Can Tell.

Craft Fair 

This is a perfect chance to purchase or sell some of those amazing crafts that have been created by you, the senior center participant! Or, if you’re looking to sell some of your pre-loved belongings this is the place to do so. You are required to pre-register by paying for your table prior to the event. Tables are limited to one per person.

Fall Prevention Day

Worried that your or someone you know will fall during day-to-day activities? Worry no more, Senior Center East will host a Fall Prevention Day to provide tips and tricks to help prevent a fall.

Christmas Movie Marathon

Every Wednesday leading up to Christmas in the month of December, come to Senior Center East for a fun Christmas Spirit filled afternoon.  In the Senior East Cinema there is no Holiday stress just the joy of Christmas films.  Come for the movies, stay for the popcorn, refreshments and holiday spirited friends.

Aqua Sculpt Yoga Class

Here are some reasons to do aqua sculpt yoga: workout the heart muscle, enhance balance and coordination, easy on the joints, reduces injury, builds muscle mass and strength, weight loss and metabolism, helps arthritis and other chronic joint and muscle conditions, helps with recovery from injuries and meeting new people. Aqua Yoga

All the benefits of Yoga with less stress on your joints and body.  Join us in our warm water pool for a stress free and mood boosting class of Aqua Yoga.

Aerobics and Chair Aerobics

Guidelines recommend 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week. Join us two days a week for moderate exercise and meet new friends Monday sessions of this popular class including 30 minutes of standing aerobics and 30 minutes of chair aerobics.

Badminton

Beach Ball Volleyball

There are numerous benefits of participating in beach ball volleyball that are good for the body, mind, and spirit as well as your social life and best of all any one can do it.  Join others in this social event and have some fun without the sun and sand!

Bingocize

Cardio Drumming

Looking for something new and exciting?  Need a change from doing the same ole same ole?  Come listen to the rhythm of the drumming and get your beat on!  This awesome new cardio workout is guaranteed to get your heart pounding and your feet moving to the beat!

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting. Some poses can also be done standing using a chair for support. Chair yoga can improve your flexibility, concentration and strength, while boosting your mood, and reducing stress and joint strain. Space is limited. Class is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Line Dance

Join the fun in line dancing. Line dancing is a great form of exercise for seniors to expand strength and muscle function, helps with memory improvement, increases balance and flexibility as well as improve cardiovascular and heart health. Learn old as well as new line dances while you exercise without knowing it!

Matter of Balance

This award winning program is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have concerns about falls. Classes help participants learn to: view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals for increasing activity, change their environment to reduce risk factors, and promote exercise to increase strength and balance. Classes are designed to benefit community-dwelling older adults who: are concerned about falls, have sustained a fall in the past, restrict activities because of concerns about falling, are interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength, are age 60 or older, ambulatory and able to problem-solve. Pre-registration is required and participants must commit to attending at least 6 of the 8 class sessions.

Movers and Groovers Walking Club

Join other seniors from Senior Center East with getting your steps in.  We will meet at Senior Center East every Wednesday and walk together for a common goal, staying healthy and active.  Walking is better together, so come join us for our next walking adventure.  Call or stop by the Center to register.

Pickle Ball

Seniors looking for some great exercise for the mind and body, Pickle ball is the game to try. This sport combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong using a paddle and plastic ball with holes. Beginners who just want to learn something new, or seasonal players craving competitive play, this is the place. Come give it a try!

Racquetball

Racquetball can be a good exercise for older adults because it's low impact, can be played at any age, and can help with upper- and lower-body strength. Racquetball is a weight-bearing exercise that can help slow bone loss. It also improves coordination, agility, balance, explosiveness, and suppleness.

Senior Tai Chi - Balance in Motion

Tai Chi provides an excellent framework to improve your health by increasing your strength, flexibility and balance through slow purposeful movement.  Classes are every Thursday.

Water Walking Club

Get your water shoes on and come join us weekly for some water walking.  Walking in the water is good for the heart and circulation in a low-impact way. It's easy on the joints, and as your joints strengthen, you can transition to water exercise.  You will be walking in warm water which is great for arthritic and joint movement.

Aquatic Center

The facility features a three-lane warm water pool with a maximum depth of 4 feet and a zero-level entrance. 

Please Note:

  • Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire must be filled out prior to use of the equipment.
  • Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire must be renewed on an annual basis. (Please note that if participants answer yes to 2 or more of the 11 health questions, a written authorization is required from the individual’s medical provider prior to beginning exercise.)
  • Please bring your own towel to use while working out.
  • There is not a lifeguard on duty in or around the pool.
  • Participants acknowledge that they should not swim alone, and therefore are highly encouraged to utilize a buddy system at all times
  • Pool is closed when aqua classes are in session.
