Emergency Home Repair Program

The Emergency Home Repair Program helps low-income homeowners address urgent repairs that threaten the health or safety of their home. The program is designed to stabilize housing and help residents remain safely and independently housed.

The City of Fayetteville partners with Fayetteville Urban Ministry through its Nehemiah Project to administer the program. Fayetteville Urban Ministry reviews applications, verifies eligibility, and coordinates repairs using licensed and insured local contractors.

Eligible homeowners must:

  • Own and occupy the home as their primary residence for at least 12 months
  • Live within the City of Fayetteville
  • Provide proof of clear ownership
  • Have a household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI), adjusted for household size
  • Not be facing foreclosure
  • Agree not to sell the property within 12 months of completed repairs

The program focuses on emergency repairs rather than full home rehabilitation, helping preserve safe housing, strengthen neighborhoods, and maintain existing housing stock throughout the community.
