Death Investigation
(Fayetteville, NC) – On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the wooded area along the 500 block of S. King Street to a report of the discovery of skeletal remains.
Officers arrived on scene and located the skeletal remains, which have been confirmed to have been there for an extended amount of time. The Fayetteville Police Department’s Homicide Unit will be working closely with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh to identify the decedent and determine the cause of death.
This is an active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
