Bulky Items
Bulky items include chairs, tables, children's toys, brooms, mops, couches, and more!
- Crews will collect up to five (5) items, at no charge, placed in an orderly manner at the Curbside.
- All items must be at least four (4) feet away from all other objects.
- Do not place bulky items in the road, under trees, near power lines (watch out for low-hanging lines), mailboxes, cars, fences, or ANY other obstructions.
- Bulky items of six (6) or more, as well as owner-generated construction debris (to include carpet of any size), must be paid and scheduled for collection through our FayFixIt app, by calling 910-433-1FAY (1329), or by visiting 455 Grove Street.
- All metal items to include bicycles, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, etc. will be collected on Wednesdays and must be scheduled for collection by calling 910-433-1FAY (1329) Please see the Solid Waste Fee Schedule for more information.
- All contractor-generated debris will not be collected.

Other Requirements
- There must be a single-family residential unit on the property to qualify for our bulky item collection service.
- We will not collect Waste of any kind placed in vacant or abandoned lots. This is considered land clearing.
- Do not place bulky items in the road, under trees, near power lines (watch out for low-hanging lines), mailboxes, cars, fences, or ANY other obstructions.
- We will not collect bulky items mixed with any other waste.
- All bulky items such as refrigerators, freezers, cabinets, entertainment centers, and all other furniture and appliances must be emptied before collection.
- All doors must be secured or removed from bulky items before collection.
- All lawn care equipment must be drained of oil and gasoline.
- Concrete in, or attached to, metal poles must be removed.
Prohibited Items
Prohibited items Include:
- Contractor-generated debris
- Tires (Up to 5 tires per household, with rims removed, are accepted at Ann Street Landfill)
- Fuel containers
- Automobile parts
- Glass (mirrors, windows, inside door frames)
- Dirt
- Rocks
- Tree stumps
- Oxygen tanks
- Batteries (Vehicle batteries are accepted at Ann Street Landfill)
- Propane tanks
- Electronics (computers, TV's, printers, stereos)
- Paint
- Chemicals
Any associated fees must be paid prior to collection.
Collection Schedule
Bulky items are collected on B week, the same day as your Yard Waste collection.
Metal items, such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, bicycles, lawnmowers, or weed eaters, are only collected on Wednesdays.
