Construction

The Solid Waste Division collects construction materials and contractor-generated debris for a fee. View our fee schedule in the drop down on our main page. Materials include:

  • Sinks
  • Toilets
  • Tiles (ceramic, porcelain, etc.)
  • Shingles (asphalt, wood, metal)
  • Fencing Materials (wood, vinyl, chain-link)
  • Concrete and Cement Debris
  • Drywall and Sheet Rock
  • Insulation Materials
  • Cabinets and Countertops
  • Doors and Windows
  • Flooring Materials (laminate, hardwood, vinyl, carpet)
  • Roofing Materials
  • Paint Cans and Buckets

Electronics (E-Waste)

E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their "useful life." Computers, laptops, televisions, DVD/Blu-ray players, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled. 

Televisions and computers have been banned from being dumped in landfills. Please take these items to the electronic recycling area at the Ann Street Landfill.

Dead Animals

The Solid Waste Division will collect dead animals on roadways and residences (if they are placed along the curb). To request collection please call 910-433-1FAY (1329) or submit a request using our FayFixIt app.

Backdoor Collection

The Solid Waste Division offers a free curbside exempt, "backdoor," collection for residents who are unable to place their rollout carts at the curb due to health-related reasons. This service ensures weekly or biweekly collection of household waste and recyclables.

Residents who are elderly or have disabilities may qualify by providing a letter from their physician.

The letter must:

  • Be on the doctor's official letterhead
  • Include the doctor's office address and phone number
  • State that the resident is under the physician's care and requires assistance with trash and recycling

This letter can be submitted in one of the following ways:

  • Mail or deliver in person to: 433 Grove St., Fayetteville, NC 28301
