Celebrate the International Folks Festival this weekend

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Join the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County for the 47th Annual International Folk Festival (IFF) this weekend, Sept. 26 and 27. From food and music to art and traditions, Fayetteville’s longest-running multicultural festival brings the community together to celebrate the many cultures that make Fayetteville unique.
The Fourth Friday Fusion Fiesta event will kickoff the festival on Friday, Sept. 26 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Attendees can expect live cultural music, dance and vendors. Eduardo and the Paco Band, a high energy Nuevo Flamenco ensemble, will be on the District Vibe Stage performing original compositions and Latin covers.
On Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m., the Parade of Nations will take place on Hay Street, showcasing more than 25 nations. Following the parade, attendees can enjoy a variety of cultural demonstrations and performances as part of the 2025 International Folk Festival. This is a free event. Motorist traveling around the Downtown Fayetteville area should expect detours and drive with caution. Once the street closures occur, no vehicles will be allowed within the festival footprint. Drivers in the downtown area should follow the signage directed traffic around the closures.
Downtown Parking in city lots and parking garages are available with the standard $5 parking fee for large events. On-Street parking is also available in the downtown area on weekends those parking spots are free to include downtown events.
Attendees should be aware that private parking lots are not owned by the city and will charge patrons their own rates across the downtown area.
To enhance the city’s public safety efforts, clear bags are strongly encouraged for this event. All bags or similar items will be inspected before entering. Backpacks are strongly discouraged. No skateboards, bicycles, personal tents or canopies will be permitted in the park. Only service animals will be admitted.
