City celebrates July 4 with Independence Day concert & fireworks show

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation (FCPR) in partnership with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and Fayetteville PWC will be hosting an Independence Day Concert and fireworks show to celebrate the Fourth of July Holiday on Friday, July 4 in Festival Park, located at 335 Ray Avenue.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. with the Fayetteville Symphonic Band, Fayetteville’s only community wind band performing group. At 8:15 p.m., the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra will begin their performance with special guest, Guy Unger Band.
The event will also feature food truck vendors, a free children’s area and a fireworks show at the conclusion of the concert.
FCPR received a $15,000 Project Support Grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County to support the Independence Concert.
This grant increase opportunities for access to arts, cultural and historical programming in Cumberland County. The grants are awarded to nonprofit agencies, institutions of higher education and municipal entities in Cumberland County that demonstrate financial and administrative stability.
To enhance the city’s public safety efforts, clear bags are strongly encouraged for this event. All bags or similar items will be inspected before entering. Backpacks are strongly discouraged. No skateboards, bicycles, personal tents or canopies will be permitted in the park. Only service animals will be admitted.
