FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - National Night Out carried on yesterday, despite the rainy weather, as community members gathered across the city to join the nationwide effort to build partnerships between law enforcement and the community, strengthening neighborhood bonds to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Neighborhoods hosted block parties, cookouts and other various community-focused events throughout Fayetteville.
Community watch groups partnered with the Fayetteville Police Department's Crime Prevention team to make the event a success.
"This effort allows not only our officers, but our first responders to build trust with our residents," said Police Chief Roberto Bryan Jr. "National Night Out demonstrates the power of community partnership in creating safer neighborhoods for everyone."
National Night Out, held annually on the first Tuesday in August, brings together neighbors, law enforcement officers, firefighters and other community partners for an evening of community camaraderie. The community turnout demonstrated Fayetteville residents' commitment to community safety and neighborhood engagement.
This event directly aligns with the city's goal of developing a comprehensive approach to community safety that emphasizes collaboration between residents and public safety professionals.
