Fayetteville names Taylor Floyd Director of Budget and Evaluation

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Taylor Floyd joined the City of Fayetteville in June as director of budget and evaluation. Floyd brings more than a decade of experience in local government budgeting and financial management, including service with the cities of Asheville and Raleigh.

Taylor brings strong municipal budgeting experience and understands how sound financial planning supports the services our residents rely on. As director, Floyd will lead the Budget and Evaluation Office and oversee the preparation, communication and administration of the City's annual operating and capital improvement budgets. The role also supports long-range financial planning, revenue and expenditure analysis, program evaluation and special research projects in coordination with the City Manager's Office, City departments and outside agencies.
"I look forward to working with staff, leadership, City Council, and the community to develop a budget that reflects Fayetteville's priorities," Floyd said.
While with the City of Asheville, Floyd managed the annual operating and capital budget process and oversaw the city's performance measurement program. Earlier in Floyd's career with the City of Raleigh, Floyd supported development of the city's first strategic plan and administered economic development incentive programs.
Most recently, Floyd supported municipal clients in western North Carolina with federal grant compliance following Hurricane Helene.
Floyd holds a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina. Floyd is a member of the North Carolina Local Government Budget Association and previously served on its board.
