Mayor Mitch Colvin selected for NC Hunt State Policy Fellows Program

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Mayor Mitch Colvin has been selected to join the sixth cohort of the North Carolina Hunt State Policy Fellows, a bipartisan group of local elected leaders from across the state committed to advancing informed, solutions-oriented dialogue around North Carolina’s most pressing education policy challenges.

Through the fellowship, Colvin will join local leaders from communities across North Carolina for a series of sessions examining issues throughout the education continuum, from early childhood and K–12 education to postsecondary attainment and workforce development.

Fellows will engage with policymakers, practitioners and leading experts to examine evidence-based approaches, exchange perspectives across political lines and identify strategies to strengthen education systems and improve outcomes for students throughout North Carolina.

The Hunt State Policy Fellows program brings together local elected officials from diverse political, geographic and professional backgrounds to strengthen understanding of education policy and encourage collaboration around challenges facing communities across the state.
